I. Walk in Love (5:1–7)

Imitate God through sacrificial love while rejecting counterfeit loves.

Jesus lived a sacrificial, forgiving life. (Eph. 4:32 “as God in Christ forgave you”.)

II. Walk in Light (5:8–14)

Therefore, walk as children of light”(v. 8)

Live consistently with your new identity by exposing darkness and displaying spiritual fruit.

A.     Light vs. darkness

B.     Fruitful vs. unfruitful

C.    Exposed vs. hidden

As the light of the world Jesus exposed darkness and made other lights.

III. Walk in Wisdom (5:15–21)

"walk ... wise" (v. 15). 

Live carefully under Spirit-control in evil days.

A.     Wisdom vs. foolishness

B.     Spirit-filled vs. drunkenness

C.    Wise stewardship vs. waste
